THE RULES OF THE FEED
Terms and Conditions
The straightforward terms that govern your use of the GitShorts website and mobile applications.
Last updated September 17, 2026
01
Acceptance and eligibility
By accessing or using GitShorts, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be legally able to enter this agreement and meet the minimum age required in your location.
02
What GitShorts provides
GitShorts publishes technology news and editorial content developed from publicly available primary sources, including repositories, release notes, official documentation, research publications, and company announcements. Sources used to prepare articles are attributed on the article page.
GitShorts also publishes concise versions of its full articles in the feed. Stories can contain mistakes, omissions, or outdated information, so verify important details with the linked primary sources.
GitShorts is an independent service and is not affiliated with repository owners or linked publishers unless expressly stated.
03
Accounts and notifications
You may read up to seven distinct stories or spend up to five minutes actively reading as a guest, whichever happens first. An account is required to continue reading after that limit. Accounts use a one-time code sent to your email. Keep access to that email secure and do not let another person use your verification code. You are responsible for activity performed through your session.
If you allow notifications, GitShorts may send editorial or service messages with links into the app. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
04
Acceptable use
Do not break the law, infringe rights, harass others, or use GitShorts to distribute harmful content.
Do not probe, disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, bypass security or rate limits, or automate access in a way that harms the service.
Do not impersonate another person, misuse authentication codes, manipulate engagement counts, or submit false deletion or support requests.
05
Content and intellectual property
GitShorts and its original branding, interface, design, and software are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms give you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the service for personal, lawful purposes; they do not transfer ownership.
Repository names, trademarks, code, images, articles, and other third-party material belong to their respective owners and are subject to their licenses and terms. If you believe content infringes your rights, contact us with enough detail to investigate.
06
Third-party services and links
GitShorts relies on and links to services operated by others. We do not control their availability, security, content, licensing, or privacy practices. Your use of an external service is governed by that service’s terms.
07
Availability and changes
We may improve, change, suspend, or discontinue features, feeds, accounts, or integrations. We aim for a reliable service but do not promise that GitShorts will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
08
Disclaimers
GitShorts is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not promise that every story or link will be accurate, complete, current, uninterrupted, or suitable for a particular purpose. Content is general information and is not professional advice.
09
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, GitShorts and its operator are not responsible for indirect losses or losses caused by relying on third-party content or services. Nothing in these Terms limits rights or liability that cannot legally be limited.
10
Suspension, termination, and deletion
You may stop using GitShorts at any time and may request deletion from the Delete account page. We may restrict or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect users, enforce these Terms, comply with law, or address abuse. Provisions intended by their nature to survive termination will continue to apply.
11
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts of competent jurisdiction in India will hear disputes, unless consumer law in your location gives you a mandatory right to another forum.
12
Changes and contact
We may update these Terms and will post the revised date here. If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide notice where required. Questions can be sent to hello@gitshorts.com.
